Hints and Tips
- The number one tip for all new reenactors all over the world is...Ask
If you are unsure of anything, then ask a member the regiment. If you look bad then we look bad.
- Unload your car and remove as soon as possible. The quicker your car is removed the quicker you can relax.
- The 43rd North Carolina is authentic from the time the camp is set up, to the time the camp is taken down.
This means that the only unauthentic part of our street is the interior of your tent, which must be kept tied at all times. We do have some tents open but these are kept strictly authentic at all times.
- When bringing food to the fire, remove all plastic wrapping in your tents first and place the food on a plate, before bringing it to the fire. It is better to have one extra plate to wash than to have plastic visible.
- .When you go to bed, wear a night hat. You loose allot of heat through your head and you will be amazed at how more soundly you will sleep when wearing one.
- If you have a wooden water bottle and the water always tastes bad, add a little cordial, not a lot, but just enough to taste.
